The goal of TES’s effort is to develop a software designed to be a complete thermal modeling and simulation environment that offers a variety of methodologies for modeling a variety of systems and components to employ the “right tool for the job” and avoid any unnecessary overhead as would be associated with a single modeling approach type analysis. The type of analysis allowed by this software facilitates a rapid and accurate optimization of the cooling system and its components. This minimizes the risk of field failures.
The software is differentiated by the fact that it is capable of coupling both a rapid 1Dimensional and a highly accurate 3Dimensional/Computerized Fluid Dynamic analysis on components as desired by the analyst. This allows the analyst to use a highly accurate physics based analysis on those components that need it and a rapid network analysis where that is adequate. The resource and time requirements are thus dramatically reduced while maintaining the quality needed to build an accurate model of the system.
All this is accomplished by direct coupling of network models with 3D CFD/CHT Component models.
The software has been used primarily in the defense industry to date. It does, however, have applicability in a wide range of industries where fluid flow and heat transfer are issues. These include the transportation industry, architectural industry, chemical industry, etc.
