HyperWorks 13.0 Meshing and Assembly

Particular attention has been paid in the development of HyperWorks 13.0 to lead time reduction. New, more efficient meshing algorithms have been developed for both HyperMesh and SimLab in order to reduce the meshing time and enhance the mesh quality. The session will focus on key new and improved features such as an advanced CFD meshing algorithm in HyperMesh, new direct modeling capabilities, interactive mesh quality control and more efficient mesh modification in SimLab.

Cabin Comfort - Analyze Airflows and Thermal Effects

It is cost prohibitive to rely on climatic wind tunnel tests in the initial vehicle HVAC system design process. Additionally, the passenger compartment airflow and thermal environment is one in a state of constant change requiring use of transient CFD simulations. In this 45-minutes complimentary session, we will give an overview of Altair’s CFD solution to simulate the airflow in the passenger compartment and include all relevant thermal effects such as convection, conduction and radiation heat transfer in the cabin. The geometry model of the vehicle interior is based on an Altair-developed generic cabin model. This geometry is used to demonstrate the model build and execution process including how to automate the model build process.

Global-Local Analysis using StressCheck, HyperMesh and OptiStruct

Global data, in the form of nodal loads generated during structural analyses may be output from Altair's HyperMesh or OptiStruct to represent cut section boundary conditions. This data can then be imported into StressCheck as Total Loads at Points (TLAPs) and applied to boundaries of highly detailed model for computation of local stresses, strains, stress intensity factors, buckling load factors and more.

HyperWorks 14.0 Webinar: Model Build & Assembly

HyperWorks 14.0 includes best-in-class modeling capabilities, with the ability to manage even the most complex and large FE models. HyperMesh has a new part and assembly workflow, which promotes flow of data directly from Product Data Management (PDM) data structures. The Connector Entity Editor (CEE) can be found in the lower part of the Connector browser and gives easy access to all important connector attributes of currently selected connectors. With the CEE it’s now possible to precisely change single attributes and realize various connectors at once. All attributes are described with tooltips.
