Injection Molding
Altair Molding provides a customized and powerful interface for creating models for injection molding simulation using Moldflow and other solvers. It has tools and wizards that support the following key features.
Midplane Models: Geometry cleanup and midsurface extraction tools help to create midplane mesh quickly. Then using the thickness extraction macro, map thickness onto the mesh from the midsurface and create a midplane model.
Solid 3D Models: Flow3D wizard guides systematically starting from CAD to a completed layered tetrahedral 3D model in minutes and requires no knowledge of HM panels that create layered meshing.
Feed Systems: Wizards and macros for designing feed systems help to create hot and cold feed systems using 1D beam elements or 3D layered tetrahedral mesh.
Cooling Circuits: Macros help to create cooling circuits using beam elements and allow defining their properties.
Model Diagnostics: Tools for checking element quality and organize elements based on property cards help to diagnose the problems in the created model.
Extensive MPI Support: Tools to export data in MFL and ASCII UDM file format extending the range of support from MPI version 2.0 to current version 6.2.
